“Come out from among them and be ye separate.”
As a Christian, I have learnt that for you to be able to do the will of God, do the things of God, or even be called a child of God, you cannot be like the rest of the world. There must be a clear difference between you and the rest of the world. You need to come out from among them.
You are the salt of the world; you cannot be like the rest of the world. You are the light of the world. You cannot be the salt or light of the world when you are like the world itself.
Matthew 5:13; Matthew 5:14–16.
When the Lord called His disciples one after the other, it was evident that He called them out of the crowd to Himself. What made them different was that they followed Him and were separated from the crowd.
Matthew 4:19–20; Matthew 4:21–22; Matthew 9:9.
So, I have learnt that being a Christian means you cannot live like the rest of the world or behave the way everyone else does. Your lifestyle and consecration must be different from what the world would do.
